Fully pedestrian medina
Fes el-Bali (great UNESCO medina) and Fes el-Jdid are impenetrable by car. Alleys are sometimes under a metre wide. Park compulsorily at the official gates.
Car parks at the medina gates
Bab Boujloud (blue gate, most touristy), Bab Ftouh, R'cif, Alaouites square: guarded lots with posted rates. A small tip on exit is customary. Refuse any 'guide' offering to park closer.
New town and sloping boulevards
New town (Dar Dbibegh, Champs de courses) on a slight slope. Dense traffic on Hassan II boulevard and Mohammed V avenue at rush hour (8–9:30 am, 5–7 pm). On-street parking is metered.
Mountain roads (Ifrane, Rif)
N8 to Ifrane and the Middle Atlas: hairpins, frequent winter fog, possible snow Dec–Mar. N13 to Chefchaouen: winding, plan breaks.
